Terms of Service
Last updated: May 10, 2026
These terms govern your use of Hostr, including the Hostr web app, mobile app, and Hostr MCP server. By using Hostr, you agree to these terms.
Hostr Is Peer-to-Peer
Hostr helps users discover, list, reserve, message about, and pay for accommodation through Nostr and Bitcoin/Lightning workflows. Hosts and guests are responsible for the listings, reservations, messages, payments, local requirements, and real-world stays they choose to enter into.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate listing, profile, reservation, and payment information.
- Use Hostr only for lawful accommodation-related activity.
- Do not publish fraudulent, misleading, unsafe, illegal, adult, discriminatory, or otherwise abusive content.
- Keep control of your own Nostr signer, wallet, keys, and devices.
- Comply with applicable taxes, permits, lodging rules, guest rules, and local laws.
Payments and Escrow
Hostr may help route payments through Lightning, swaps, and smart-contract escrow workflows. Blockchain, Lightning, swap, and escrow activity may be irreversible or subject to network conditions. Review payment prompts carefully before approving any action.
No Custody or Professional Advice
Hostr does not ask for your wallet seed phrase or private keys. Hostr is not legal, tax, financial, insurance, lodging, or travel advice. You are responsible for deciding whether a listing, reservation, payment, or escrow workflow is suitable for you.
Third-Party Networks and Services
Hostr relies on third-party networks and services, including Nostr relays, image hosting, wallets, Lightning infrastructure, swap providers, escrow services, hosting providers, and ChatGPT or other MCP clients. Those services may have their own terms and availability limits.
Availability and Changes
Hostr is provided as available and may change, pause, or stop features at any time. We may update these terms by publishing a new version at this URL.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hostr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by user conduct, third-party services, network failures, payment errors, smart-contract behavior, or real-world accommodation disputes.
